Editorial policy
We aim to make participation in amateur sport easier to understand. Our articles should be clear about what they know, careful about what they cannot establish and useful without overstating what sport can do for any one person.
Accuracy and clarity
We check factual claims against suitable sources and distinguish general explanations from opinion or suggestion. We do not make up statistics, experience or credentials. When a topic depends on a club, organiser or local rules, we say so rather than implying that one answer applies everywhere.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial choices are made for reader relevance, not as a condition of a commercial relationship. Any paid, sponsored or partner material is clearly labelled so readers can tell it apart from independent editorial work. A placement does not amount to an endorsement of every claim or service it mentions.
Corrections
If a factual error is identified, we review it and correct the article when warranted. Where a correction materially changes the meaning, we make that change clear in the article. Readers can send a correction through the Contact page.
Images and illustration
Images should help readers understand the subject and should not mislead them about an event or person. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; when that is relevant, we label them clearly. We do not present generated imagery as documentary evidence.
Sport belongs in real life
Taking part is not a test of commitment or a contest to keep up. We focus on clear choices that help people find a pace and place that suit them.
