Write for us
We welcome clear, original pitches about taking part in amateur sport: choosing an activity, club life, practice habits, participation and planning. Send proposals through the Contact page; please do not send a finished article unless invited.
What makes a strong pitch
Tell us the reader question your piece will answer, why the subject matters to people taking part, and the main idea you would help them understand or act on. A focused pitch is easier to assess than a broad tour of a sport. Explain the proposed approach and note any relevant experience without implying credentials you do not hold.
The work we are looking for
We favour evergreen subjects, distinct angles and advice that readers can consider safely without special equipment or professional supervision. We are not looking for performance guarantees, medical advice, promotional copy or claims that require unsupported statistics. Original writing must be your own and must not be published elsewhere.
How to send a proposal
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a working title, a short summary, the intended reader and a few lines about your approach. Please mention any relevant commercial interests. A proposal is not accepted until we agree to it.
Sport belongs in real life
Taking part is not a test of commitment or a contest to keep up. We focus on clear choices that help people find a pace and place that suit them.
